About Me

My name is Georgina Ferguson. I am an accomplished Motion Graphic Designer and Creative with over 15 years of experience creating immersive installations and compelling visual content. I have a varied portfolio having created video, interactive and immersive design for museum, fashion, social media and corporate projects.

I have also written and lead a higher education graphic design course.

Over the past year, I worked with Squint Opera on a large-scale museum project. My role ranged from early concept work through to production, with a focus on narrative sequencing, visual treatments, and storyboarding. It was an great experience collaborating with advanced technology and a highly skilled, multidisciplinary team.

Alongside this work, I collaborated with Absurd on a number of projects, creating motion graphics for social media campaigns supporting a podcast and a newly released comic book series. Founded by the creators of the Grand Theft Auto franchise, Absurd provided the opportunity to contribute to ambitious, high-profile visual work.

I have also worked on a couple of museum projects with Elbow, contributing motion and visual design as part of their exhibition work.

Museums and Immersive Art Installations

I love art, history, and storytelling, which is reflected in my ability to bring archive imagery to life through immersive projections.

I enjoy the challenge of creative design for unusual audio visual design, including multi screen, projection mapping and I am highly experienced at tailoring narrative to fit these formats. I have created UI for multi player educational games and interactives within museums.

Social Media and Corporate Animation

I create content that engages audiences on social media platforms, driving brand awareness and user interaction. My corporate animations simplify complex ideas, enhance brand identity, and deliver messages with clarity and style.

I can direct, produce, lead work and I am confident working alongside clients.

Teaching & Academic Experience

I previously ran an HND Graphic Design course, contributing extensively to course design and structure. This included writing briefs, shaping curriculum content, delivering teaching, and undertaking assessment, alongside the administrative and pastoral responsibilities involved in running a course.

More recently, while my focus has shifted away from formal teaching, I presented my portfolio, working practice, and creative approach at the London College of Contemporary Arts (LCCA). I also undertook a short period of teaching there last year, and hope to deliver a module focused on design for exhibition and museum contexts during the current academic year.

I hold an MA Motion Graphic Design with Distinction from the London College of Communication, where my postgraduate study strengthened my research-led, concept-driven approach to design and visual storytelling.
